Jason van Bruggen is a globally represented Canadian photographer and filmmaker. He has travelled and worked in over 100 countries, including some of the most remote locations on the planet. His work is full of natural beauty, found light, substance and a clear appreciation of the natural world. Jason's immersive storytelling expresses his interest in humanity, his love of the everyday hero and the underdog, and his consistent ambition to share authentic and truthful stories. In addition to numerous international editorial and commercial publications, Jason's work as a visual artist and storyteller has been profiled by National Geographic, Outside Magazine, Explorers Journal, to name a few and by numerous brands, including Patagonia, Destination Canada and Arc'teryx.
His short film work has been featured and awarded in various international award shows and most prestigious film festivals and aired on CNN, BBC, PBS and many networks
Jason's fine art photography practice exhibits around the world. Historically focussed on the impacts of a warming planet on remote communities and landscapes, he has recently shifted to examine the impacts of climate change at mid-latitudes. Jason was the closing speaker at TEDx 2020 - 2021 'Uncharted' and is a Fellow of the Explorers Club and the Royal Canadian Geographic Society.
